Verdict
The Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 USM macro is a high performance lens with next to perfect resolution
figures across the image frame which is only limited by diffraction effects. Lateral CAs as well
as distortions are not field relevant. Unfortunately there're also a couple of drawbacks. The
vignetting is too high at f/2.8 and the quality of the bokeh is only decent but not really
stellar. There's also some bokeh color fringing (LoCAs) at large apertures.
The build quality of this lens is very good - the constant physical length is especially
worth to mention here. The AF is very fast, accurate and nearly silent. All-in-all an nice
little lens which is available at an attractive price point.
