The Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH is a very nice lens, that delivers amazing sharpness in the image center, but impresses a lot less at the image borders and corners, at least in terms of sharpness.

Vignetting is fairly pronounced wide open and also on a rather high level stopped down. When 6-bit coded, the camera reduces vignetting considerably, however one should be aware of the drawbacks of this approach regarding noise. CAs are very well under control and no issue in the field.

Bokeh is a bit nervous in the transition zone, but in general quite good for a wide-angle lens. Unfortunately, background highlights form polygons except for the largest aperture setting.

As you'd expect from a Leica lens, the build quality is excellent and nothing to complain about. At least, as long as we're talking about the lens itself, because the hood of the regular lens editions feels a little cheap in comparison.

So, a very compact and very capable wide-angle prime. As with many Leica lenses, its only real "issue" is its price tag.
