Verdict

Distortion is well controlled, vignetting is moderate wide open but no issue stopped down. CAs are very low at large apertures, but increase considerably stopped down, which is a bit unfortunate behavior for a macro lens.

The bokeh quality is good, but not exceptional and especially suffers from pronounced outlining in background highlights.

The build quality of the lens is very good, but unfortunately the lens does not feature an integrated motor. For many Nikon DX shooters, this alone makes the lens an unattractive option, since their cameras do not provide AF functionality with screw driven lenses.
