Sample Images
Ok, finally here're some sample shots taken with the EOS 350D (converted RAWs via RSP).
Click on a thumbnail to view the original file (opens in a separate window). Please note that the full-size
images are supplied in JPEG2000 format. You should be able to display the images in most modern imaging
applications such as Photoshop. This is a measurement to limit the bandwidth which is a scarce resource.
If you prefer to watch the full-size samples in your Internet Explorer browser you may try the
JPEG2000 ActiveX Control (Windows) plug-in.
I've checked out a few plug-ins for Mozilla/Opera but haven't really found a good one. Firefox will
open IE if you install the ActiveX Control above.

Verdict
Using the Peleng 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye was pure fun thanks to the extreme fisheye
effect so a technical analysis of the lens seems almost pointless. That said it
is a pretty sharp lens. Its major optical flaw is flare which will
be easily visible in many images. Due to the extreme field-of-view
there's also almost no way to shield the lens from strong light sources to avoid
the problem. Due to the lack of electronic and mechanical coupling to the camera you will
need to operate the lens like in the photographic stone age but it is really easy.
Naturally this is no mainstream lens but if you can live with its limitations and
want to try a different style of photography just give it a try!
