Verdict
The Tokina AF 100mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro D macro is a real alternative to the
high priced 100mm macro lenses offered by the genuine manufacturers (and the
other members of the third-party gang). At around
350-400 EUR/US$ the Tokina costs significantly less but it still offers a
comparable optical performance in a solid and durable package. Minor flaws
are higher-than-average CAs and a quite slow AF speed. All-in-all the Tokina
seems to offer the best bang for your bucks in this arena - highly recommended!
