Verdict
The Tokina AF 100mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro D macro is a very good alternative to the
high priced 100mm macro lenses offered by the genuine manufacturers as well as the
other members of the third-party gang. It offers a very high quality optical performance
with a great resolution, a smooth and buttery bokeh (out-of-focus blur), non-existent
distortions and very well controlled vignetting. Minor flaws are higher-than-average
CAs and a quite slow AF speed. The build quality is exceptional. Regarding its very
attractive pricing the Tokina can give you lots of bangs for your bucks - highly recommended!
