Sample Images
Here're some RAW-converted images taken with the NEX-5. Sorry for the rather mediocre lighting conditions but autumn has visited Germany with a vengeance...
Please note that there's no valid EXIF data due to the lack of electronic coupling. Most images were either taken at f/2.5 or f/6.7 so you may roughly conclude the aperture settings from the depth-of-field.

VerdictThe Voigtläander Color Heliar 75mm f/2.5 isn't the very sharpest lens that we've tested but it is generally a decent performer. The resolution is pretty good at f/2.5 and very high when stopped down a little. Vignetting, CAs as well as distortions are very well controlled and not an issue from a real world perspective. The bokeh (out-of-focus blur) is pretty smooth and buttery so it's certainly qualified for portrait photography and other applications requiring a shallow depth-of-field. However, you may spot some bokeh fringing (LoCA) at times and the lens shows a certain tendency of producing purple fringing at extreme contrast transitions. Typical for Voigtländer lenses the build quality is on a very high level thanks to a tightly assembled metal body. The Color Heliar doesn't cost an arm and a leg and if you're looking for an affordable medium tele prime lens it is certainly worth a look.
